Earth. Alchemy. Ornament—

Nature offers its rawest treasures —
and in the hands of an artist,
they evolve into stories held close or gifted with quiet intent.

HONG KONG JEWELELRY SHOW

The Journey Begins—

I was first led into the world of jewellery by my mother — those early shows, their excess and passion, the overwhelming enthusiasm for workmanship, and the sheer abundance of jewels both finished and raw from all corners of the world… they shaped everything to come.

With family jewellers and artists in the lineage, the connection ran deep — a immutable thread of beauty and making woven through generations.

At the heart of Vermilion is a focused ritual: choosing gemstones by hand.

I travel to the Hong Kong Jewellery Shows, where the huge global jewellery world gathers three times a year — to meet trusted suppliers, examine stones, and select those that speak. Not just in colour, but in character. In energy.

I’m drawn to the individuality of each gem — the inclusions, the tiny variations, the fingerprints of Nature that no machine can imitate.

Jewellery composition with unfolds with the stone. From there, the design takes an intuitive path— not a random one, but based on principles distilled through the ages.

Every gemstone begins with a story.
You can explore those that align with anniversaries, birth months, and the stars. A useful companion for inspiration — a nudge to help you choose with heart, for a milestone, a memory, or someone you love.

Design—Vermilion Composition.

My work is deeply influenced by the Renaissance — not just in form, but in philosophy. I lean on coloritochiaroscuro, and the effortless grace of sprezzatura. These are not simply artistic terms — they are ways of seeing: of balancing shadow and light, richness and restraint graced with humanity's imperfection.

Jewellery, to me, is a kind of painting in gold and stone — A considered composition of contrasts. It will never shout, but it will always speak.

The Maker's Mark.

Machine-made jewellery may shine — but it does not glow. There is a lustre that only the human hand can give: a softness of edge, a deliberate imperfection, a sense of time passed through touch. When I finish a piece, my tools leave prints — a trace of labour, intention, and care.

These marks are not flaws. They are proof of presence.

Every Vermilion piece holds a world within. A hidden ruby pays homage to the vermilion pigment of the Renaissance, while Florin-inspired circles and Medici balls appear as subtle motifs of art, power, and time. These are not loud signatures, but subtle impressions — signs left while shaping memory into gold.

Sustainablity is an Attitude.

Gold is eternal — a noble metal, endlessly recyclable because it never loses value. To me, sustainability is not a sales buzzword but a mindset: one rooted in time, trust, and tradition. I work slowly. I forge long-term relationships with suppliers who care.

I make only what feels right—shaped by what Nature yields.

Each piece is made to endure — not only in form, but in feeling. It carries the memory of its making, but importantly the unseen touch of those who bought the gemstones and gold into being.

A Living Practice.

This is the alchemy behind every Vermilion jewel — a thoughtful interplay between earth, fire, and feeling. It is a practice of perseverance with continual learning. But the design does not end at the jewellery itself. From bespoke Vermilion packaging to express delivery, every detail is composed to set an expectation of something beyond ordinary from the moment it arrives.
