Refund policy
At Vermilion Jewellery, we pride ourselves on delivering beautiful, quality, handcrafted jewellery, though if the piece isn't quite right for you we are happy to help.
Imperfect looking pieces are part of the organic design process and are not an indication of flaw or weakness.
We do not offer refunds on change of mind returns.
If a jewellery piece is seriously unsuitable then please contact us within 2 weeks of receipt and if we cannot resolve the situation to your satisfaction then a store credit will be issued upon return of undamaged, unworn and intact goods. The store credit has no expiry and will allow you to initiate an exchange for something else.
Shipping costs for non-repair returns will be deducted from your store credit.
International & New Zealand Returns. A DHL Express label will be sent you and pick up scheduled at your convenience. Charges will be deducted from your store credit $150AUD for international and $50AUD for New Zealand.
Australian Returns. An Australian Post Express Label will be sent to you. An $15AUD charge will be deducted from your store credit.
Each Vermilion Jewellery piece comes with a 24-month warranty, which covers damage caused by manufacturing faults only.
If the instance of a break caused by wear and tear, a repair fee is incurred. The cost of the repair is dependent on an assessment.

OUR VOLUNTARY WARRANTY & AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW
- All jewellery is fully guaranteed against defect for 24 months
- Claims will be entitiled to a refund, replacement or repair
- Claims where jewellery has not been handled according to our care instructions will not be accepted
- All metals will tarnish over time and is not covered under warranty.
- Postage will be paid for by Vermilion Jewellery
THE SMALL PRINT
All Vermilion Jewellery products come with a voluntary manufacturer’s warranty. In addition to this, they come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
VERMILION JEWELLERY VOLUNTARY WARRANTY
Subject to the terms of this warranty, Vermilion Jewellery offers a warranty against manufacturing defects for Vermilion Jewellery items purchased from our Australian Online Store at www.vermilionjewellery.com.au, for a period of 6 months from the date of purchase (Warranty Period*). Vermilion Jewellery will offer a repair (where possible) or replacement* for such jewellery items exhibiting a manufacturing defect during the Warranty Period. If an identical replacement is not available, we will offer a replacement item of equivalent value. Certain exclusions set out below apply.
Exclusions to Vermilion Jewellery ’s warranty against defects
- Vermilion Jewellery’s warranty does not apply to items that have been handled against our care instructions or damaged by accident or misuse. Please see follow the care instructions listed on our website.
- All metals will tarnish over time, but it will happen much faster if they have contact with agents such as perfume, salty air, sulphur, skin creams, hairspray, chlorine and acidic skin pH. The amount of tarnishing (oxidation) that occurs depends on your skin and jewellery care habits. Tarnishing due to the above reasons, is not covered under this warranty.
Vermilion Jewellery ’s voluntary warranty does not override your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Vermilion Jewellery’s voluntary warranty provides benefits in addition to your other rights and remedies under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable consumer law in Australia; and does not exclude, restrict, modify, limit, replace or override your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including the consumer guarantees.
Depending on the relevant circumstances, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law may continue to apply after the end of Vermilion Jewellery ’s voluntary warranty period.
Making a warranty claim
Please email sales@vermilionjewellery.com.au in the first instance. We will then offer you instructions on how to return your jewellery for repair, refund or replacement.
YOUR RIGHTS UNDER AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW
You have the protection of consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. (Note: The general comments below are not a comprehensive or exhaustive summary of the Australian Consumer Law.)
Relevantly, the Australian Consumer Law contains certain statutory automatic guarantees (consumer guarantees) which provide you with a basic guaranteed/automatic level of protection when you purchase Vermilion Jewellery jewellery in Australia. For example, there is a consumer guarantee that our jewellery is of acceptable quality (that is, free from defects, safe, durable, acceptable in appearance/finish, and fit for wearing based on what a reasonable consumer would regard as acceptable given the type of goods, price of goods (if relevant), description/statements on packaging/labels, statements made by supplier/manufacturer about the goods and other relevant circumstances).
If your Vermilion Jewellery fails to comply with the applicable consumer guarantees you are entitled to certain remedies under the Australian Consumer Law. In accordance with the applicable provisions of the Australian Consumer Law: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Note: “major failure” has a specific meaning under the Australian Consumer Law.
